DIY Plug-in Oil Refills
I really love the Glade Plug-ins in Cashmere Woods scent but besides only being available during the cooler seasons, the refills burn away pretty fast and the cost of those little refill oil bottles gets a bit too pricey. It occured to me that these could be refilled with essential oils (which I already have) if I could just figure out the recipe to copy the scent.
I am liking a blend of Cedarwood, Amber, Musk, Vanilla oils as much as I love the Cashmere Woods scent and it is very easy to just pry the top off the empty bottle and replace the oil.
Pry the top off the empty Glade scented oil refill container. Place the flat edge of a flat edge screwdriver under the lip of the lid. Gently pry the lid off the container.
Use a tiny funnel to pour the oil into the bottle then close the bottle again and if nothing is leaking, use as before.
I read that you can replace the "wick" in the bottle if it dries out or stops working, with Q-Tips...I have not tried that yet so I don't know if that will work but if you want to research it the instructions can be found out there on the web.
