This 12-day adventure will take you by bike from the World Heritage Site of Hoi An, on the coast of Vietnam, to the World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the largest Hindu temple site in the world.
Ride on quiet country roads, past rice paddies, through lush jungles, and alongside the Vietnamese coastline as you make your way from one heritage site to the other. Immerse yourself in the ancient culture of the Vietnamese and Cambodian people, learn about their past, and savor the local cuisine. Visit the world's most famous religious sites, kayak through a flooded forest on the Mekong River, and push your limits on this 400-mile ride-of-a-lifetime.
Day 1
Hoi An
Meet in the ancient town of Hoi An, which was one of Southeast Asia’s major trading ports during the 17th and 18th centuries. Spend the day wandering the narrow streets, and meet your group for a welcome dinner and trip briefing.

Day 2
Hoi An–My Son–Hoi An
Cycle through scenic backcountry roads, past rice paddy fields, through a eucalyptus forest, and by many scenic villages. Cut through the lush jungle alongside the Song Tranh River and eventually to My Son, which was once Champa’s greatest city. Enjoy a picnic lunch and spend time exploring the heritage site.

Day 3
Hoi An–Quang Ngai–My Lai
Transfer from Hoi An and begin your ride from a small village. The road is shaded by arching palm trees and surrounded by tended rice paddies. Arrive at My Lai by lunchtime and then continue into the Vietnamese countryside where you’ll stop at a traditional pagoda before heading to your hotel.

Day 4
Quang Ngai–Kon Tum
Challenge yourself as you leave the coast and head into the central highlands towards Quang Nam and onto Kon Tum. Transfer to the town of Bato in the highlighs and cycle 10 miles uphill to the top of Violak Pass. Reward yourself with a fantastic 13 miles descent to the bottom of the pass.

Day 5
Kon Tum–Pleiku
After breakfast, ride out into the countryside to visit local villages that are well known for their communal houses with very steep and tall roofs. After a local lunch, pedal to the town of Pleiku, which has some of the best coffee in Vietnam.

Day 6
Pleiku–Cambodian border–Banlung
Transfer to the border of Cambodia, say your farewells to the Vietnamese team, and meet your Cambodian cycling crew to begin your ride from the border to the town of Ratanakiri. Continue your riding along a recently paved, winding road as you climb into the highlands that are home to the former Ho Chi Minh Trail. Spend the night in the surroundings of Terres Rouge, a traditional style Khmer house oozing with old world charm in this remote part of Cambodia.

Day 7
Banlung–Stung Treng
Rest your legs and spend the day kayaking on the Mekong River. Paddle through a flooded forest that is home to a wide-range of bird life, enjoy a picnic lunch, and then meet your van for the drive down to the Stung Treng Province. Enjoy authentic Khmer food served by local students who are training in the hospitality and tourism industry to ensure a better future.

Day 8
Stung Treng–Kratie
Get back on the bike for a long day of riding as you head to the Kratie Province, a small provincial capital located on the bank of the Mekong River. Stop at Kampi to take a one-hour boat ride to see the Irrawaddy dolphins, cycle to Kratie Town and board a ferry to Koh Trong where you’ll spend the night at a family homestay.

Day 9
Kratie–Kompong Cham
Transfer south to the western banks of the Mekong to ride along quiet roads through small rural villages and alongside the river and scenic countryside. Cycle to a small hilltop pagoda that houses an eighth-century pre-Angkorian temple, offering spectacular views over the Mekong. Enjoy a well-deserved picnic lunch before cycling the last 13 miles to Kampong Cham, where you can relax in the hotel’s swimming pool.

Day 10
Kompong Cham–Kompong Thom
Head out of town on a quiet secondary highway, surrounded by rubber plantations, paddy fields, and typical Khmer villages. Kampong Thom is a picturesque town on the banks of the Stung Sen River, which hosts the magnificient Khmer tmeplte site Sambo Prei Kuk.

Day 11
Kompong Thom–Siem Reap
Pedal past quiet villages, rice paddies, and palm trees en route to Siem Reap. You’ll ride down a 700-year-old ancient road to Beng Mealea, explore the temple, and push onto Dam Dek for your transfer to Siem Reap.

Day 12
Angkor Wat Temples
Meet your temple guide in the morning and head out to visit the temples that made this area famous. Focus on the small circuit, which features temples such as the pyramid of Takeo, the jungle-clad Ta Prohm made famous by the movie Tomb Raider, and the impressive royal city of Angkor Thom, where you’ll find Bayon, a temple famed for its many gigantic carved faces smiling beguilingly down at its visitors. After lunch, take on the majestic Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious building. Return to the hotel, and spend time relaxing before your farewell celebratory dinner.
