Day 2
Fly to Lukla

Take a short and scenic mountain flight to Lukla, and trek to Phakding.

Day 3
Trek to Namche Bazaar
Continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing this majestic river many times on suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. For the record, the bridges are made of steel, so you can cross them safely even if you choose not to say a prayer. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views.

Day 4
Namche Bazaar acclimatization day

You will spend the day at Namche Bazaar in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air, as well as make a short trek to a museum that celebrates the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. From this point, you get rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks.

Day 5
Trek to Tengboche Monastery

The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi with magnificent views of the mountains. Upon arrival in Tengboche, you can visit a local monastery full of incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the lamas. You’ll have the opportunity to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or morning, depending on how the day unfolds.

Day 6
Trek to Dingboche

From Tengboche the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche, among thousands of mani stones. Farther down the trail is the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche, with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam.

Day 7
Chhukung Valley

Enjoy another day for acclimatization. Hike to the Chhukung Valley via the Imja Khola Valley to get a marvelous view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 8
Trek to Lobuche
Continue along the lateral moraines of the Khumbu Glacier and pass stone memorials of fallen climbers. Continue your climb up to Lobuche, which is really just a few guesthouses and huts at the foot of Lobuche Peak.

Day 9 Trek to Everest Base Camp (17,598 feet) Another big and difficult day—the trek to Everest Base Camp takes you the closest you can get to the world’s highest peak without mountaineering equipment. You may even have the opportunity to observe some teams prepping for their summit bid! Enjoy views of the legendary Khumbu Icefall, and return to Gorak for the night.

Day 10 Trek to Kala Patthar (18,225 feet)
One of the most challenging and rewarding days of the trek—spend the morning climbing Mount Kala Patthar, a small peak (by Himalayan standards) at 18,225 feet. The ascent is demanding but presents the most magnificent mountain panorama of Everest and the surrounding peaks.

Day 11
Trek to Namche Bazaar

Visit Pangboche, the oldest monastery in the region, which is said to be the scalp and bones of a yeti. Leave the mountains behind as you continue on to Namche Bazaar.

Day 12
Trek to Lukla

Return to Lukla, and enjoy exploring Lukla and reflecting on your personal and group achievements.

Day 13 Scenic flight back to Kathmandu Enjoy your last glimpse of the mountains on the 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer back to your starting hotel, and relax in the city.

Day 14
Leisure day in Kathmandu

Unwind from your trip and explore the streets of Kathmandu. Visit the shops in Thamel, and soak up the last of Nepalese culture.

Day 15
Transfer for your final flight departure

An airport representative will drop you at the Kathmandu international airport for your departure flight from Nepal.
