Delicacy: Cactus Jerky
Maybe you've eaten cactus (nopales) with your Mexican food? Or
perhaps the idea of eating cactus seems totally crazy? The prickly pear cactus
has been used traditionally as a food source for over 3,000 years--if that's not
a devoted fandom, I don't know what is. This cactus jerky, in both Spicy and
Tamari flavors, has a chew-til-your-jaw-hurts texture (in a good way). High in
minerals and fiber, but low in calories--it's also gluten-free, non GMO. Take a
chance and gnaw on something new.
